Khidhki was born from a shared dream, to bridge the distance between where Indians live and where their hearts belong. For founders Khurram and Akriti Hussain, this isn’t just a business, it’s a bridge of belonging, built with love, vision, and a deep respect for cultural connection.
Akriti Hussain
For Akriti, Khidhki is more than an idea, it’s an extension of her life’s work. An MSc in Psychiatry from Cardiff University and 18 years of practice in mental health therapy, she has helped countless NRIs find grounding through understanding and empathy. Her six years in the UK, alongside her extensive work with NRIs, showed her how deeply Indians abroad maintain their connection to India, while still wanting to bring more of that connection into their everyday lives. With training in Solution-Focused and Narrative Therapy, and a background in entrepreneurship, Akriti brings both vision and heart to Khidhki, turning emotion into action and belonging into a movement.
Khurram Hussain
Khurram’s journey to Khidhki began during the Covid years, when he realised that if work could transcend borders, so could culture. An MBA from Cardiff University and 18 years of experience as a hotelier, Khurram combines business insight with genuine warmth. His 18 years in hospitality and MBA gave him a strong understanding of both customer needs and the depth of expertise available in India, leading him to recognise the opportunity for a single, accessible window through which NRIs could discover and access that expertise from wherever they are. With Khidhki, he brings that opportunity to life, combining business insight with a deep understanding of the NRI experience.
